Want to join our team? We are looking for TWO entrepreneurial ecosystem builders that will help with our new GO Virginia program, Startup Shenandoah Valley. We are looking for someone passionate about connecting entrepreneurs to the resources that exist in our amazing Shenandoah Valley. One ecosystem builder will be based in the Northern Shenandoah Valley region and one will be based towards the south of the Valley.

The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Builder is a full-time professional position responsible for cultivating strategic partnerships through community outreach activities and raising awareness of entrepreneurial activities throughout the Shenandoah Valley. The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Builder will work to improve community knowledge of the Shenandoah Valley’s ecosystem and establish relationships with businesses, individuals, and other organizations interested in supporting entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Builder reports to SCCF’s Executive Director.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Identify potential mentors, sponsors, and locally-based subject matter experts
• Connect and nurture relationships with up and coming entrepreneurs
• Oversee accelerator application process for individual localities
• Provide program management for local entrepreneurs
• Track metrics for regional entrepreneurs
• Connect and nurture relationships with potential donors to the program
• Determine potential partners and cultivate those prospects that best align with the Startup Shenandoah Valley Program
• Act as a point of contact, as needed, with potential entrepreneurs in the Shenandoah Valley.
• Provide activity reports to the Executive Director.

Position Qualifications, Knowledge, Education, and Experience
• Experience with launching or working in a startup
• Must have knowledge of the Shenandoah Valley region and proven successful partnerships in the region.
• Knowledge of the entrepreneurial life cycle and how businesses work
• Knowledge of startup investments and how they work is a plus

Job Knowledge and Skills
• Has a strong performance orientation and skillful strategic independent thinking.
• Strong organizational skills, with keen attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively.
• Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications.
• Ability to coordinate and lead meetings, including public speaking.
• Flexibility to work some nights or weekends as may arise from certain event attendance.

The Staunton Creative Community Fund has a permanent, part-time Program Administrator position.
The Program Administrator’s responsibility is to facilitate the efficacy of all other departments in their
endeavors and maintain daily functionality. The position will be 25 hours per week.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Administration tasks such as: Answer phone, maintain office supplies, maintain client files
• Event Coordination and calendar management; classroom preparation
• Administration of the new Startup Shenandoah Valley Program, such as client data entry, project track and reporting.
• Administration of other SCCF Programs and daily operational tasks
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

SCCF needs a highly organized person with attention to detail who is also flexible. Integrity, reliability, and
the ability to work independently are also essential for this role.

The Staunton Creative Community Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that revitalizes communities by supporting and lending to local entrepreneurs. Our specialty is launching innovative community-based programs that network community-members and entrepreneurs and link them with the resources they need to thrive. SCCF provides direct loans and matched savings accounts for qualified start-up and
expanding small businesses, training and consulting services for entrepreneurs, and virtual incubation services for start-up non-profits. SCCF offers a flexible, unique work environment that is focused on strong community partnerships with community members, local businesses, non-profits, and local
government. Successful applicants will be motivated, creative, flexible, collaborative, and comfortable interacting with a diverse array of community partners and clients. SCCF is largely grant funded through organizations such as the United States Department of Agriculture, the Small Business Administration,
the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development, Proteus Foundation, Community
Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, United Way of Greater Augusta and other funding agencies;
familiarity with these organizations and/or with the maintenance and administration of grant-based
funding is desirable. Strong writing and computer skills are also advantageous, and a dedication to
maintaining confidentiality when dealing with proprietary client information is a requirement. SCCF is
an at-will employer and all employment positions are contingent on funding.
