Operations Coordinator

The Staunton Creative Community Fund is seeking a part time Operations Coordinator to aid in our mission of helping small businesses start and grow here in the Shenandoah Valley. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but mighty team working to change how we think about and use money to transform our local economy. The position is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Operations and Financial Administration (60%)
    • Answer phones and serve as a customer service representative of the Fund. Act as a first introduction to the services of the Fund.
    • General data entry and filing.
    • Regular bank runs and out of office errand running.
    • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of offices.
    • Admin work including paying bills and preparing for our monthly financial reconciliation by another firm.
    • Initiate and track monthly loan payment payments.
    • General support of other staff and event needs.
  • Technical Administration (30%)
    • Maintain and update websites for SCCF and Invest Local.
    • Serve as Salesforce Administrator: saving back-ups, running reports, improving data cleanliness, and aiding workflow.
  • Community related tasks shared with all staff (10%)
    • Maintain positive relationships with clients, community partners, and similar resource organizations.
    • Contribute to the SCCF blog and social media platforms.
    • Occasionally staff and attend after hours events hosted by the Fund or partner organizations.

The Operations Coordinator is a part-time salaried position which will be expected to work 20-25 hours per week. Benefits include flexible vacation time and a learning atmosphere with paid opportunities for professional and personal growth.

SCCF is looking for a highly organized person with attention to detail who is a creative problem solver. Integrity, reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team are essential for this role. Extra points will be given to candidates who include the word “lightning” in their application email subject line. Basic comfort with technology is very important for this role: we use MS Office, Google Apps, social media, WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, and Salesforce. While we don’t expect prior experience with all of those things, we do expect a confident readiness to learn.

The Staunton Creative Community Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization that revitalizes communities by supporting and lending to local entrepreneurs. Our specialty is launching innovative community-based programs that network community-members and entrepreneurs and link them with the resources they need to thrive.

Fellowships with SCCF

Are you crushing the college game but want to get involved with building our community? We appreciate interns that bring new energy and support to our work of helping start and grow small businesses in Virginia’s Central Shenandoah Valley.

We provide our fellows with an opportunity to dig in and work on real projects. We promise that you won’t be fetching us coffee or spending your entire time making copies. It will be real projects with a real impact. We aren’t shy, we expect a lot from our fellows.

– can multi-task, manage deadlines, and organize their time.
– can commit at least 10 to 15 hours a week.
